The end is close!

As a comittee we all met to finalise the details of GLNCs return to netball this week. Please find below a full breakdown of all you need to know regarding the return to play including junior and senior training date, fees information, summer and winter season plans and Club events for the rest of the year. 

Note these are all subject to changes in govement guidance and we will update these if anything changes.

All training dates will be added onto the GLNC Spond by coaches soon so please keep an eye out and register your attendance ASAP. Any issues registering or using Spond feel free to message Rebecca McNickle on Spond or email glosladies@gmail.com

GLNC Netball Restart ( March 2021)

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are doing well and starting to see light at the end of the tunnel.  We have some great news about netball restarting that we are keen to share with you.  There is quite a bit of information here, so please bear with us.

England Netball Guidance

England Netball have been working as a governing body with the Government and aligning back to netball with the issued roadmap for lifting lock down as announced on the 22^nd Feb.

Stage 1 – 8^th March  

Netball in schools and afterschool clubs can restart, but not to play matches against other schools

Stage 2 – No earlier than the 29^th March

Community netball outdoors for training and matches for adults and juniors (modified rules apply)

Stage 3 – No earlier than the 12^th April  

Indoor facilities open for Junior team sports (EN seeking guidance as to if this is limited to smaller groups / restrictions)

Stage 4  - No earlier than the 17^th May

Indoor facilities open for Adult team sports and competition (EN seeking guidance as to if this is limited to smaller groups / restrictions)

No earlier than the 21^st June

Anticipate netball returning to normal pre Covid , with tournaments resuming and rule modifications no longer required.

England netball are positioning the return to netball as focused on

GLNC restart

Based on the above roadmap GLNC are keen to restart.  The committee and coaches have been reviewing how best to restart within the guidance and availability of venues and are pleased to announce the following sessions

Fees

The fees for the 21/22 season have been calculated as follows based on the training dates that have been completed and those proposed by the above dates. Please review your payments to date and consider if you need to make a payment / or if you can cancel your standing order based on what you have already paid. 

*excludes £6 membership fee, match fees are also paid separately on the day

If you have two children in u11 – u14 total for 2 = £127.50, if you have 2 children 1 in U16s/U18s and 1 in U14 or below £ £123.75

If you are not sure the please contact Harry (via SPOND or email c47harrington@gmail.com) who can advise based on the bank reconciliation.  If you have overpaid, we can make a bank transfer back to you, or if you would like to carry over as a prepayment for next season that is also fine.

Please note we complete our annual accounts on the 26^th May and so will be reporting the account position to the AGM based on this date.

If anyone is having financial difficulties please do not worry, just let us know and we can accommodate your personal circumstances. Any communication related will be consider private and confidential.

Junior matches

We have been asked to express interest in playing some matches against other clubs, we have done so for all age groups (U18s to U12s)

The plan is to play on indoors on a Sunday at Plock Court and / or Cheltenham college from 9^th May, we are just awaiting the details, but anticipate so return to playing.

We will see if we can separately set up a friendly for the U11s.

Adult Summer League

The county are also planning to run a summer outdoor league, again we await the details for days, times and locations but GLNC have asked that two teams be registered  

21/22 Season

It is anticipated that we will be returning to normal for the 21/22 season, with a club registration event on Monday the 12^th July and so the committee and coaches will be advising over the summer of arrangements as soon as they are finalised.

AGM

The club AGM is to be held 17^th June 2021 (last year it was delayed to the 3^rd September 2020), all members of the club will receive an invite via SPOND with the meeting held virtually either on TEAMS or ZOOM.

End of season 2020 party

Last year in April 2020 we planned our end of season, awards, disco and hog roast, obviously that had to be cancelled.  We are still keen to hold a social and are considering a start of season event possibly in September but will keep you posted.

Christmas

We do however have a provisional date for our Christmas gathering for the last weekend in November 2021 at Hardwick Village Hall, details to follow.  

Dresses  

We recognise that a number of juniors (and possibly seniors) will require new dresses, we have submitted a new order. These will be available for the new season at £36.

New Website

New website via England netball, some areas are still in development, would be great to have some further feedback / further support to take it forward.
